AMBA Mold Builder of the Year and Tooling Trailblazer of the Year Winners Announced!
The American Mold Builders Association (AMBA) proudly presented Rick Finnie, M.R. Mold & Engineering Corp., Brea, CA, with the 2019 Mold Builder of the Year Award and Century Die Company, Fremont, OH, with the Tooling Trailblazer of the Year Award during the AMBA Conference 2019, May 8-10, Itasca, IL.
Green Box Derby Highlights Local Job Opportunities
Tim Myers, general manager for Century Die Company, said the company sponsors the Green Box Derby to push the youth to pursue a future in careers they might not have considered. By the end of the race on June 10, 2018 Century Die have given out $22,500 worth of scholarships!

Century Die Active In Getting Young People To Manufacturing
In the last four years, we have seen over 200 students visit our facility and spend the day with us. Mold Maker Professional for a Day is an ongoing program that allows students to visit us for the day to see what skilled trades looks like in a modern manufacturing facility. While much of their day is spent on the shop floor, they also spend time in Project Management, Engineering, IT, Accounting, etc. allowing them to see all aspect of the business.

Mold manufacturer co-hosts plant tours for area guidance counselors
Century Die Co., along with four other area manufacturers co-hosted a bus tour to showcase their modern, high-tech sophisticated manufacturing plants. The tour took 35 guidance counselors and school officials from the area to the facilities.
Baby Boomers Retirements Create Gap In Trade Work
Thirty-five years ago, Tim Myers started learning about the tool and die industry as an apprentice at Whirlpool. Experienced workers taught him everything from machine repair to complicated die components. At the same time, he took classes at Terra State Community College.
